Apple Dental Education is exited to announce our Coronal Polishing and Sealant Course for Dental Assistants (DAs). This course is approved for DAs to become Expanded Function. It provides the theoretical and clinical framework for the DA to perform the expanded functions of coronal polishing and dental sealant application in the State of Illinois and Indiana.
Every DA is invited to participate in the course. We send emails with a flyer containing the course information and the logos of our sponsors to dental offices, dentists, list serves, newsletters, dental associations, etc. DAs participating in the course come primarily from dental offices and teams involved in the School Based Oral Health Program of the City of Chicago. Approximately 500 elementary schools are part of the program and this year the Chicago Public High schools will be added. The program has been growing exponentially, along with the number of dental teams, including dentists and dental assistants. These DAs and their dental teams will be using large quantities of dental supplies to run their programs.
